NAID AAA Certification is the industry’s gold standard; it’s a quality assurance program that establishes the ongoing compliance and security of member companies. Our certification requires all employees to pass criminal background checks, drug screens, and confidentiality training. Additionally, our facility and equipment must pass annual, unannounced inspections. And, Gone for Good customers receive automatic updates when our certification is renewed or revoked, which fulfills their regulatory requirement to monitor the compliance of their data destruction company.
Advanced Security Measures
- Locked document containers are accompanied by two individuals at all times
- Trucks are equipped with highly-secure locks, laser sensor alarm systems, and real-time GPS tracking
- Off-site facility has a 24-hour motion-sensing alarm system and keypad-controlled access
- Shred width of 5/16” exceeds the industry norm
- Co-mingling of paper makes recreating documents virtually impossible
- Certificate of destruction is provided with each invoice for any type of shredding service
Plant-Based Chain of Custody
Our operations ensure a closed chain of custody for off-site services. Here’s how the process works:
- A customer service agent and an assistant travel from the Gone for Good (GFG) secure facility to customer locations.
- The GFG representatives swap the full bags within the customer’s locked consoles for empty bags. The bags filled with paper media are placed in locked mobile containers and loaded onto a locked truck.
- The truck returns to the GFG plant located off Lakeshore Parkway in Birmingham.
- Material is shredded to 5/16 of an inch within 72 hours of pickup.
- Shredded material is baled and shipped to a large recycler, such as Georgia Pacific, where it is converted to pulp and properly recycled.
Mobile-Based Chain of Custody
Our on-site mobile service is a popular choice for its efficiency and confidentiality. Here’s how the process works:
- A customer service agent travels from the Gone for Good (GFG) secure facility to customer locations.
- The GFG representative swaps the full bags within the customer’s locked consoles for empty bags. The bags filled with paper media are placed in locked mobile containers and escorted to the mobile shredding truck.
- Each mobile container is placed securely on the truck’s lift, unlocked, and emptied into the shredder. The representative checks each container for any paper media that has not been shredded.
- The representative obtains a customer signature before departing.
- Shredded material is baled at a local recycler then shipped to a large recycler, such as Georgia Pacific, where it is converted to pulp and properly recycled.
